Who's behind Sunbutter?
Sunbutter Sunscreen was founded in 2016 by Sacha Guggenheimer and Tom Hiney, marine biologists and conservation ecologists, after witnessing the harmful effects of traditional sunscreens on coral reefs while working on the Ningaloo Reef.
Their mission was to create a high-quality, effective and environmentally gentle sunscreen that protects both skin and marine life. Produced in Victoria, Australia, Sunbutter is committed to sustainability, with reef-safe formulas and 100% plastic free packaging.

Depending on the size of your order our products are packaged in recycled paper jiffy bags and cardboard boxes.
Inside our cardboard box packaging we use a combination of brown mesh paper and white tissue paper, tied with hemp rope to keep parcels secure during delivery. Gummed paper tape is used to seal our cardboard packing boxes.
Our branded stickers and business cards are printed with vegetable based inks that are safe to compost.
